The acronym SPC stands for Small Plastic Container, a term coined by Universal Commodity Services, Inc. to give a new name and narrower specification for a product known in the plastic industry as “3 through 7”. The residue coming off a MRF sort line traditionally contained grocery bags, plastic containers, paper, metal and even glass. We immediately started working with MRF’s and processors to develop a desired grade which is easy for suppliers to produce while attractive for end users to purchase and process in all market conditions. Overall the SPC recycling program was developed to increase your diversion rate while simultaneously improve your bottom line.
